Mike Chisholm was born in 1954 in Stevenage new town (30 miles North of London, England). He became interested in photography about fifteen years ago, building on an interest in printmaking. He is currently mainly creating colour sequences. He is also interested in designing and making books. He has two children, and has lived and worked in Southampton, England since 1984. He was educated at Alleyne's School, Stevenage, and then Balliol College, Oxford, the University of East Anglia, and University College London. He has had no formal photographic education but has enjoyed and benefitted from residential workshops at Duckspool, and a course run in 1985 in Southampton by Mike Skipper of the Oxford Darkroom.
