This image was made during my period of
photographer in residence at Milton Keynes. The work shows
the life of Beadlemead, a street in one of the many estates
within the town, during a 12 hour period from 9am - 9pm.
The image is constructed in such a way as to create a
physical tracking shot, giving the impression of a cinematic
experience.
The actual print is 4 foot high and 30 feet in length
allowing the viewer to interact with the street as he
or she walks along it.
I am continuing this project throughout Britain and shall
create 30 prints depicting life throughout Britain. Cities,
towns and villages will be portrayed representing not
only urban, rural and coastal lifestyles but also the
multifarious social and ethnic mix that is Britain at
the beginning of the millennium.
